Pre-Marital Workshops

Engaged?  Dating and considering engagement?  The premarital class is for you!
Our Vision:  To prepare couples for a life-long Christ-centered marriage.
Our Purpose: To provide couples the opportunity to consider their strengths and to identify areas of spiritual and relational growth.

Costs:  $200 per couple (Fee includes Prepare/Enrich).  The fee is not due until after you have attended the Introduction class and have met with our facilitators, Travis & Shari Gomez.
On the Sunday, following the Introduction (August7), you will meet with Travis & Shari who will explain the evaluations you will be taking and the mentor couple you will be meeting with at a day/time to be determined by you and your mentor couple.

We also offer one on one premarital counseling with one of our Marriage and Family counselors.  Please call 760-929-0029, ext. 191 to make an appointment.

 MarriageSkills

MarriageSkills Workshop – Follow up, 12-15 week workshop for couples who have completed MenSkills/WomenSkills or who have met with Jeff Reinke.

The MarriageSkills Workshop is a comprehensive Christ-centered discipleship workshop designed to help couples restore and grow in their relationships. Couples will gain insight and experiential application to enable them to repair and develop a secure emotional bond. This will be accomplished as couples are taught how to identify destructive patterns of interaction, heal the hurts and foster healthy ways of relating and loving.

Each session will have four components:

1. Spiritual – This will include a spiritual lesson or a personal scriptural application provided by the facilitator.
2. Instructional – The facilitator will expand principles outlined in the curriculum as well as highlight concepts and apply them to specific situations
3. Reflective- Time will be given for each couple to reflect on what they are learning and how it impacts their own marriage      needs and issues.
4. Experiential – Each couple will have the opportunity to discover:
–  The origin of their pain
– How they fight
– How to repair during conflict
– How to respond to each other in a loving, caring, way.

Prerequisite:  MenSkills/WomenSkills or approval from Jeff Reinke

Children can attend Children’s Ministry Program at the same time.

Purpose:  This is a 12-week comprehensive and Christ – centered program to encourage men/women to journey through unresolved hurts in order to become a more loving person.  Some of the topics that will be addressed are family of origin issues, past relational wounds and the process of healing through forgiveness and repair.

Limited to 12 participants

WomenSkills II, Renewing the Mind

This class will teach women how to renew the mind in order to become leaders and Godly influences in their homes and communities.  The 6-week session will help you become the person God created you to be.  The workshop addresses your relationship with God, yourself and others.  WomenSkills II includes individual sessions, each designed to take a deeper look at select sessions presented in Womenskills I.

Our purpose
Our purpose is to encourage, serve, and equip marriages and families for growing, loving, Christ-centered relationships.

The Marriage & Family Ministry welcomes you as you pursue God’s best for your marriage and families here at North Coast Calvary Chapel. It is important for you to know that our NCCC family includes single adults, single parents, and blended families. The premarital track has been created to help you find the encouragement and instruction that you need. We want to encourage you to join us as we learn and grow together in Christ. Premarital Course Overview
If you are engaged, considering engagement or just dating, the NCCC Premarital Course is for you!  The $200 course fee includes a compatibility inventory and class materials. Premarital Class Descriptions
In addition to attending the following premarital classes, participating couples will meet regularly with a uniquely matched mentor couple.  The mentor couples will guide and support the couples through the entire premarital course.

Introduction & “Usness Factor” by Jeff Reinke
This class introduces the participants to the Premarital Course.

Session 1 – Know Your History and Usness
This class is generally presented early in the premarital course and introduces participants to the reality of marriage.  Topics include of brief look at marriage myths, reasons for marriage, anyway love, and love’s languages

Session 2 – Pain Cycle, facilitated by Lance & Jennifer Ahl

Session 3 – Peace Cycle, facilitated by Lance Ahl;
This class brings to light the reality of leaving a single life and entering into a healthy marriage relationships.  Focus is placed on the placement of God at the center of the marriage relationship…

Session 4 – 4-Steps to Problem Solving, facilitated by Matthew and Joanna Raabsmith 
This class introduces couples to practical communication skills to produce, protect, and sustain a vital relationship. Specifically, this class teaches couples how to develop confidence in effective marital communication, reduce disagreements and tension, and experience greater caring and esteem for each other.

Session 5 – Finances, The Business of Marriage – facilitated by Travis & Shari Gomez
This class introduces couples to the fundamental issues and best practices regarding the management of finances in a marriage relationship. Couples should walk away with an understanding of the basics of budgeting, understanding their own financial personalities, and how to start conversations that lead to financial unity.

Session 6 – Sex & Marriage, facilitated by Dana and Wendy Moen
This class presents how sex is beautiful and holy in God’s design.  Discussion and presentations examine how a  healthy expression of sexuality can strengthen marriages and the importance of creating an environment for nurture and romance.

Session 7 – Forgiveness, facilitated by Lance and Jennifer Ahl

MENTOR COUPLE BIOS:

Travis & Shari Gomez have been involved in marriage ministry since 2005. They have served in the Marriage and Family Ministry at North Coast Calvary Chapel since 2012. During this time, they have been involved as teachers, trainers, and mentors for couples who are participating in the Premarital Program. They now have the privilege of serving as directors of the Premarital Program.

The Legacy Journey (Dave Ramsey)

The Legacy Journey by Dave Ramsey is a continuation of Financial Peace University Part 1. It is a 7-week course that leads participants deeper into investing, basic estate planning, purposeful living, safeguarding their legacy and discovering the keys to generational wealth and true generosity.

Participants will learn a biblical framework for living intentionally now so that later they will be able to leave a legacy that will secure their families’ future and make a lasting impact on the world around them.
